The Amazon is an unparalleled source of biodiversity and vitality for our planet. However, it faces constant threats, such as deforestation. The Yuxibu Project, our pilot project, started in 2005 and completed in 2021, seeks to protect the forest and promote sustainable development for local communities. By preventing deforestation, the project has prevented the emission of 715,051 tons of CO2 equivalent, contributing to climate stabilization, biodiversity preservation, and protection of ecosystem services.
Since its founding, Canopée has prioritized building strategic alliances with local organizations as a central axis of its operations. These alliances are essential to identify the demands of the communities surrounding the projects and develop social initiatives that promote positive impacts in a sustainable manner.
By joining forces with regional institutions and strengthening collaboration networks, Canopée promotes the implementation of actions aimed at preserving the environment and social development, ensuring that solutions are personalized, inclusive and aligned with local realities.
